- OBJECTIVE: Students will work to complete the main sign.
- Students worked on their action items for the school's new sign. As of today, they are as follows:
- MAIN SIGN (TREX PORTION)
- Clean off TREX.
- Get pictures of brackets for last piece of TREX.
- TRAPEZOID
- Install an aluminum rain lip to be placed on top of the trapezoid, but under the solar panel mount that will keep rain away from the upper door-trapezoid joint. (Andrew).
- Install locking brackets.
- Install the door.
- MAIN FOUNDATION / OLD SIGN
- Clean off (with water).
- Seal the main foundation concrete.
- Cut down the old sign. Bring the boards back to the F-building. Through away everything else.
GENERAL
- Gather all documentation.
- Package up all electrical components -- put on cart.
- OBJECTIVE: Students will work to complete the main sign.
- Students worked on their action items for the school's new sign. As of today, they are as follows:
- MAIN SIGN (TREX PORTION)
- Add screws and washers to the very ends of the bottom and top pieces of TREX on the front. Do this on the back as well. (Elliott)
- Remount the department icons using a nut and Loctite to first secure the mounting screws (longer ones acquired) and then mount and secure the icons. Use washers against the TREX, both sides, and lock washers between the washers and the bolt head or nut. (Gage & Jackson, Ben & Preston)
- Drill holes for the LED wires. Extend wires to the front side of the sign, behind the lettering, for future connections. (Tristan, Will)
- Install the remaining back TREX boards. (Elliott)
- Fabricate clips to be used for the top TREX board that goes on the back. (Aidan, Andrew)
- TRAPEZOID
- Remove solar panel (so that the concrete can be sealed). (Tristan & Will)
- Seal the trapezoid, front first. Seal edges, outside surfaces. (Kyle, Isaieh, Hunter)
- Install an aluminum rain lip to be placed on top of the trapezoid, but under the solar panel mount that will keep rain away from the upper door-trapezoid joint. (Andrew)
- Drill holes for mounting the 4444 and CV. Remove wood form (use a forstner bit) so the washers on the bolts will be secured against concrete, not wood. (Gage & Jackson, Ben & Preston)
- Verify the bolt length necessary for mounting the 4444 and CV.
- Install epoxied anchors for the door. Will need a brush and air compressor (and therefore generator) to blow out holes. Read the epoxy directions. Stainless all-thread will need to be cut and threads chased. Cut studs so there is at least 1" of thread exposed. (Tristan, Will, Aidan, Andrew)
- Mount the 4444 and CV.
- Install the door.
- MAIN FOUNDATION / OLD SIGN
- Clean off (with water).
- Seal the main foundation concrete.
- Cut down the old sign. Bring the boards back to the F-building. Through away everything else.
- OBJECTIVE: Students will work to complete the main sign.
- It was decided today to not focus on the electrical, other than finishing the LED's on the CV (which are now working), and running the main wires from the trapezoid to the lettering to be back-lit so that the Trex on the back will not need to be pulled off when things are completed next year.
- Here is a list of things to be done, along with when they will be finished and who is responsible:
- Clean the CV -- Ben (finished today during AO)
- Weld LED holders onto the CV (Aidan, 6/12 during AO)
- Drill door anchors and set anchors in trapezoid (Spencer on 6/13)
- Mount Door
- Fab and install locking mechanism for door (Andrew, Hunter, Preston -- Andrew has a design).
- Install lettering on Trex -- 6/13 after school (Trevin, Ben, Gage, Andrew, Jackson, Preston)
- Drill trapezoid for CV and 4444 -- 6/14 during class
- Mount CV and 4444 -- Thursday during class
- Run wires (Tristan, 6/13)
- Put back TREX on (6/14)
- Seal all concrete (6/15)
- Cut down old sign (Friday after school -- Andrew, Ben, Preston, Hunter, Will, Isaieh, Gage)
