The following expectations for conduct in the immersion learning environment includes behaviors that promote your success and the success of your colleagues.
I arrive at training sessions on time and prepared to participate actively, including meals and activities.
I take initiative and work to carry out assignments independently and in a timely manner.
I observe and emulate culturally appropriate behavior relevant to the target culture.
I comply with Village safety policies and procedures, including those relating to alcohol and tobacco possession and consumption, non-discrimination, the protection of participant privacy and respecting off-limits facilities that require special training, including the kitchen.
I demonstrate curiosity and a willingness to learn, even when topics are unfamiliar or may not seem relevant to me
I seek and accept feedback from instructors and peers.
I seek to recognize my strengths and areas needing improvement.
I communicate only/as much as possible in the target language, using the language I know and stretching to to reach a higher proficiency level.
I positively engage in all activities, in recognition of different learning styles, interests and professional goals among the participant group
