Yr 10 World of Work Experience
(27th - 31st March )
The ‘World of Work Experience’ is the careers focus for our Yr 10 students. We aim to ensure that all Yr 10 students have experience of the workplace. This is fundamentally due to the following;
Experiences of the workplace creating social capital for young people with more limited networks.
Experiences of the workplace give students the opportunity to develop essential skills.
In March, we celebrated our most successful ever Yr 10 Work Experience week, whereby 96% of the Yr 10 cohort achieved a week of work experience.
It was pleasing to see the students work hard and use their own initiative to find their own work experience.
The feedback from students was excellent, which indicated that over 90% of the students enjoyed their week and had learned a range of new skills. We also had fantastic reports back from employers to say how well they had done and would be willing to give them more work experience in the future.
'My Work Experience was great fun! I got to work with a surgeon and observed a heart operation! I definetly want some form of career in medicine
