Leanpath continues to partner with numerous food service organizations, enabling them to make commitments to reduce food waste at scale in accordance with Target 12.3 of the Sustainable Development Goals. For example, Sodexo committed to deploy Leanpath’s food waste prevention technology at 3,000 sites around the globe, a historic agreement in support of their goal to halve food waste by 2030.
Using customized tracking devices from Leanpath, Sodexo team members can track and measure each case of food waste in their kitchens, capturing critical data on the type, amount, source, cost, and reasons for that waste, enabling operational and behavioral interventions to drive waste reduction
The company is now seeking to accelerate the development of its Waste Watch powered by Leanpath program to 85% of its foodservice sites by 2025.

The scale of the food waste challenge requires urgency and bold commitment to food waste reduction by food service providers. Working closely with Leanpath with a focus on measurement, behavior change, and continuous innovation, Sodexo has set a standard for the food service sector in how to successfully implement an enterprise wide food waste prevention program.
Continued focus on food waste prevention efforts across the Sodexo platform
Tracking and reporting on results in accordance with the 50% reduction goal by the end of 2025
Continued support for Sodexo’s Better Tomorrow plan.
Sodexo’s commitment to halving food waste in operations by the end of 2025 aligns perfectly with Strategy 5 of the 2019 EAT-Lancet Commision report which calls for halving (at least) food loss and waste by 2030 in accordance with Target 12.3 of the SDGs.
At Leanpath, we track total impact in terms of pounds of food waste prevented across our platform on a continuous basis, and our enterprise reporting functionality allows clients like Sodexo to “roll up” their data across all sites/regions to track progress against their global commitment to halving food waste by the end of 2025.
