Leanpath has been pleased to work extensively with Compass Group throughout the APAC region. In its 2024 Sustainability Report, Compass noted:
“Over the last three years, our Australian business has continued to deploy Leanpath’s industry leading technology into over 200 sites across the country. By using the system, they have been able to track the total weight of food items repurposed. This year, a reported 45,000kg of food that would have otherwise been wasted has been utilised. In accordance with Leanpath’s methodology and reporting, Compass Group has reduced its total food waste by 34% since 2022.”
As an example, by focusing on “the why” behind food waste reduction from the start, the University of Canberra team members were able to make the personal connection between their daily actions and the impact of food waste from their operations, leading to high engagement with the data to uncover opportunities for waste-reducing changes as well as weekly meetings to share successes and discuss additional interventions. The team shows the power of committed teams in leveraging Leanpath’s actionable data to change culture and drive significant food waste reduction.

Continue to support the Compass Group APAC teams in tracking and measuring food waste and capturing learnings and implementing actions to prevent the recurrence of waste.
Continued support for achieving the goal of halving food waste in operations by 2030.
Compass Group’s commitment to halving food waste in operations by the end of 2030 aligns perfectly with Strategy 5 of the 2019 EAT-Lancet Commision report which calls for halving (at least) food loss and waste by 2030 in accordance with Target 12.3 of the SDGs.
At Leanpath, we track total impact in terms of pounds of food waste prevented across our platform on a continuous basis, and our enterprise reporting functionality allows clients like Compass APAC to “roll up” their data across all sites/regions to track progress against their global commitment to halving food waste by 2030.
