Connecting my pathway experiences to my academic experiences.
I entered Connecticut College with the intention of majoring in Computer Science. I love technology and learning how to problem solve. Although I'm not the most perfect Computer Science student, I believe applying the skills you learn in Computer Science is applicable to any field. I also love to create with technology and express my creativity through it in multiple mediums. My current Computer Science interests include Human-Computer Interaction and Data Science! I'm planning to take Entertainment Software Design, Interactive Data Visualization, and the Research Seminar for Fall 2024.
I entered Connecticut College with the intention of combining Computer Science and Psychology. I was interested to apply concepts of Psychology to my Computer Science goals. I want to work with Humans and don't want a software engineering job when I graduate. I initially didn't want to continue pursuing that, but because of this pathway, I wanted to dabble with Psychology electives again. A lot of my Psychology Courses tend to reflect my quantitative research skills: I took Psychology of Sleep for Summer 2023, Psychology Stats in Fall 2023, and Research Methods in Psychology for Spring 2024.
This is a declared minor I never intended on declaring when I came to Conn. However, because of this pathway, made me rethink the humanities-based courses I enjoyed so far at Conn and my interests in activism. Through this minor, I do this to incorporate the disciplines of the American Dream and Asian American Studies. I took Queer Theory Fall 2023 and Teaching Social Justice under the Education Department for Spring 2024. I'm planning to take Sex, Gender, and Revolution for Fall 2024.
