Materials should be in a two or three column list.
Include all of the chemicals and equipment you are using. Often, there is no list of materials on the handout or one or two items may be missing in the list provided. If you read through the procedure, you should be able to determine all of the things you need. You should leave a blank line or two that could be filled in during lab if you discover you missed something or if the procedure gets changed during the lab.
Key point:
Edit your list of materials as needed - add in missing items or change details (e.g., if you listed 1.0 M HNO3 and you ended up using 3.0M HNO3, then correct this in your list of materials).
