If you have quantitative results then you will need to calculate Percent Error or Percent Yield.
% error = experimental value – accepted value x 100
accepted value
A negative % error means your calculated value was too low.
A positive % error means your calculated value was too high.
PERCENT YIELD
If you have run a chemical reaction and collected a product, you will determine the percent yield:

If Error Analysis is assigned, you will then create an error analysis table with the following format:
The error you choose should be a physical thing that happened in the lab that caused you to get the + or - % error OR low/high % yield that you are reporting.
