Changing Passwords
On MacOS
On MacOS
Jamf Connect is used at Concord to sync Microsoft Entra IDs with Mac devices. It allows staff to log in with their school credentials, which then creates and manages a local account on the Mac. This setup ensures secure, single sign-on access while simplifying account management and keeping devices consistent across the district.
Even though we give the option of MacBooks here at Concord, we still use your Microsoft account for account creation on Mac!
We use a product called Jamf Connect to sync your Microsoft Entra password with your MacBook's local account password!
Jamf Connect will talk with Microsoft Entra to pull over password expiration dates, password policy strengths, etc.
Look below to see how these two behave when it comes to password changes, how to change passwords, etc:
In the Status Bar (very top of your MacBook screen) of your MacBook, you should see the Jamf Connect icon!
1.) Select the Jamf Connect icon
2.) Select Change Password
3.) Login to your Concord Account
Full Concord Email and Password
4.) Select Security Info on the left
5.) Select Change under Password
6.) Input the following, and then select Submit
Current Password
New Password
Confirm New Password
New passwords CANNOT repeat words or series of numbers!
7.) Select Done in the "password changed" box
8.) Select Done on the bottom of the Jamf Connect window
9.) Select Okay on the Jamf Connect popup
10.) Sign In using your full Concord Email and New Password
11.) Input your Old Password when Jamf Connect asks for your "Local Password" then press Sync
Your passwords have been properly changed and should stay valid for the next 180 days!
Next, lets resync our Apple ID's on each Apple Device.

If you are receiving an error message, then you are most likely failing to meet one of the password requirements:
8 or More Characters
1 or More Uppercase Characters
1 or More Lowercase Characters
1 or More Numbers
1 or More Symbols
CANNOT repeat same words or series of numbers!
If you receive the error message: "Some iCloud Data Isn't Syncing",
1.) Open up your System Settings app
2.) Select that error message in the top left corner!
3.) Select "Resume Syncing" in the top right corner
You will eventually get to this screen! --->
Here, it is asking for your previously set password (same as Step #11).
Input that previous password and press Continue!
This error message should disappear and no longer popup!
