FALLAS is our most beloved tradition. Just back at school after the Christmas holidays we are thinking about the leitmotif of the monument, the materials, the different "ninots", and classes go by very quickly in January and February. March surprises us every year in a hurry, finishing every detail to have everything ready for the last special day of school before Fallas week, to show our work to the whole school.

Strange times in 2021. Social distance and other restrictions forced us to cancel the "Falla" activity and change to one based on sculpture skills. In this case, students had to create a small figure of a man or a woman. The only requirement was that it should be a reading person.
Materials were similar to previous years, but a mixture of flour, water and paper was tried with good results to give volume to the wooden skeleton structures.

2020 as we all know was the lockdown year. But luckily, we could finish normally our falla, since the last school day was the Plantà. Students had chosen Cartoon as general subject of the falla, and each team made their favorite one. We can see Homes Simpson, Finn, Dock, from Adventure time, Micky Mouse, Pikachu and Jerry.

Las Meninas, by Diego de Velazquez, is an iconic painting of our culture that represents this country throughout the world. This "Falla" is the tribute to the universal art of the sevillian painter. We were inspired by some of his characters, but, of course, with our touch of personality and crativity. If not, how could you conceive a dog that is an unicorn landscape, or the menina and infanta skirts with fabric prints of moon and sunflowers?
