CORPORATE VISUAL IDENTITY is the set of values that DEFINE THE PHILOSOPHY OF A BRAND.
It hopes consumers to identify of it and turn them into loyal consumers. Is also the set of elements that give to the brand an UNIQUE and UNIVERSAL IDENTITY.
We have different concepts to learn about CORPORATE VISUAL IDENTITY:
LOGOTYPE:
Design of the letters.
The text functions as an image.
It usually gives the name of the brand.
SYMBOL or ISOTYPE:
It’s an image.
Not necessary represents exactly the meaning of the company.
We recognise and link this image with the company.
IMAGOTYPE
Separate representation of both elements (LOGOTYPE + SYMBOL) interacting to achieve the objective of making the brand recognizable.
Graphic element and text can work separately.
ISOLOGOTYPE
Graphic element and text form an indivisible element.
They can’t work separately.
We have studied also how define an isotype or other graphic elements working qwith the empty parts, what is known as NEGATIVE.
