CEO
Simon Torrez joined Taos Behavioral Health as the business manager. He took over the CEO role in September 2013. He is a homegrown Taoseño with smarts from his years as a business manager and the heart of a dedicated family man. He is delighted to be helping build nonviolence skills in Taos.
Clinical Director
Jessica Diaz, LMFT, is a seasoned Clinical Supervisor with over 20 years of experience in mental health and family services. She holds a Master’s in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix, as well as a Bachelor’s in Child Development and Family Relations with a minor in Psychology. Jessica’s extensive background blends clinical expertise with a deep understanding of family dynamics, child development, and relational systems.
Throughout her career, Jessica has worked across diverse clinical settings, providing individual, couples, and family therapy to clients of all ages. Her leadership is rooted in evidence-based practice, trauma-informed care, and a strengths-based approach that honors each individual’s story and growth potential. As a Clinical Supervisor, she offers thoughtful guidance, reflective supervision, and professional development to clinicians, fostering a supportive environment that promotes both clinical excellence and compassionate care.
In addition to her clinical oversight, Jessica supervises Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS), ensuring that community support workers and programs are effectively integrated with clinical treatment plans and aligned with best practices for recovery, resiliency, and independent functioning in the community.
Jessica is known for her ability to build strong therapeutic alliances, her commitment to ethical practice, and her dedication to creating programs that enhance outcomes for clients and teams alike. She is passionate about mentorship, ongoing learning, and advocating for accessible, high-quality mental health services.
Outside of her professional life, Jessica loves spending time with her family and enjoys the outdoors, peaceful sceneries, gardening, and cooking. These personal passions enrich her perspective and contribute to her holistic approach to wellness and work–life balance.
Jessica’s combination of advanced training, practical experience, and leadership skills makes her a trusted supervisor and clinician, committed to empowering both clients and colleagues on their journeys toward healing and resilience.
Director of Operations
Heaven was raised in Taos, NM. Heaven worked on and off with Familia Y Mundo while attending high school, where she discovered her passion for working with youth programs. After graduating from Taos High School in 2018, she took time off to study at Adams State University, and travel with Spirit Xpress West teaching proper cheerleading technique. Heaven Currently resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is now the Programs Director at Complete Behavioral Health. Heaven takes pride in being a part of the change she’d like to see in the world. Heaven enjoys painting, making bracelets, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Accounting / Benefits Manager
Alicia started with the agency in January 2022 and is part of the admin team assisting with payroll, benefits, and accounting. Alicia was raised in Taos, NM but moved to Albuquerque in 2009. Alicia enjoys working in an office setting and has a background in case management, quality control, and management. She enjoys working with our agency since she sees the need regarding behavioral health and agrees with our vision and the services, we offer to help our community members. Alicia has a large close-knit family including 2 sons whom she enjoys spending her time with when not at work as well as traveling and painting canvases.
Human Resources
Tony is from Taos, New Mexico, and has been the HR Director at CBH since January 2023. With a professional background of 25 years in the automotive industry, including a role as Parts and Service Director, Tony brings a wealth of experience to his current position. What Tony loves about working at CBH is the welcoming family atmosphere. For fun and self-care, Tony enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time in nature.
Credentialing Specialist
Lisa is from Albuquerque NM. She relocated to Taos with her husband, who was born and raised in Taos, to raise their children 15 years ago. She has been married to Simon Torrez for 23 years and they have 4 children whom they devote their time to. Lisa Graduated from UNM Albuquerque in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business Management and has been the Credentialing Specialist for Taos Behavioral Health since 2015.
Manager of Operations
Michael was raised in Taos, NM. He graduated from Taos High School in 2014. Michael has been working for Taos Behavioral Health on and off since starting high school in 2012. He worked around varsity football and track schedules while in school at the Familia y Mundo program. Michael took time off to study at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, as well as to enlist in the US Army. He deployed to the Korean Peninsula as part of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Armored Division in 2018. During this time, he obtained the rank of Sergeant. Michael is still actively serving in the armed forces now as a Behavioral Health Non-Commissioned Officer based out of Albuquerque. Michael enjoys giving back through his work in the community that raised him. In his spare time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, playing and watching sports, and working on cars.
Simon was raised in Taos, NM. He graduated from Taos High School in May 2021 and is currently living in Albuquerque. He began working at Complete Behavioral Health in 2021 as a community support worker and is currently focused on improving the programs that he has worked within. Simon enjoys his spare time by going to the gym, being a car enthusiast, and spending time with his friends and family. Simon recognizes the patience and dedication it takes to support mental health needs and uses his personal experiences to provide meaningful care to those within his community.
