When the time comes to travel, below is some of the key information to keep in mind.
Tickets & Traveling Date:
The flight to Medellín will take place between July 10 and 12th. The School will start purchasing the tickets after the approval of your visa through a travel agency who will contact you directly to give you a couple itinerary options for you to choose the one that you prefer. The agency will try to pick itineraries with maximum 2 layovers and each ticket will include two luggages. It is possible that the 2nd luggage will need to be paid at the airport, if this is the case, please keep the voucher of the purchase and the School will reimburse you the full amount in pesos of the second luggage. If you decided to bring more luggage, please let the HR team and the agency know to put all the information in your reservation. Remeber the payment of the extra luggage will be at the airport and it will be covered by you (third piece or more).
Shipping Goods:
Overall, shipping goods to Colombia, outside of bringing luggage with you on the plane, can be a slightly complicated and expensive process. However, it is possible and has been done by several of our faculty.
If you are thinking about shipping goods to Medellín, Monica Echeverry in HR can help you with all the steps.
Please take into account the following:
Taxes: the value you pay will be based on your shipping declaration.
Timeline: once the goods are in Colombia, it can take around two to four weeks to get to your place.
Documents: you will need to sign some documents and authorize some of them.
While the school does not have a partnership with any organization for shipments, other faculty members have used moving services from the companies below:
Important: Please request company name, a tracking number and a phone number in order to monitor the shipment.
