Want to see the BIG picture? The process for changing schools and countries always involves some hoops to jump through. This outline is the general process you will go through before arriving to your new home/school!
Below is a timeline for the process you should follow to ensure that you are ready for your transition. Our HR team will help you through all of the steps in this process, answering any questions that you may have. However, in the end, you are responsible for meeting all deadlines and providing all necessary documentation. The forms highlighted in blue below will be sent to you from HR according to the timeline.
October - April:
Return signed letter of intent and child protection form.
Complete introduction bio.

Complete a Criminal Background Check and share it with HR. Residents of other countries must provide a background check form from their current country of residence as well as one from their country of origin. Foreign forms must be provided in English or Spanish. Some recommendations:
Canada: Certn
US: Goodhire, Springverify
Passport (photo page).
If you have been in Colombia in the past: photo of the stamps (entry and exit) or visas (if you have had) and cedula de extranjeria.
Teaching Certificate apostille- find here the information for apostille.
All academic diplomas apostille (Bachelor’s and Master’s, if applicable).
All academic transcripts (Bachelor’s and Master’s, if applicable).
Proof of Blood Type.
Birth Certificate apostille (only for accompanying child dependents).
Marriage Certificate or legal proof if living together (De Facto Union) for more than a year apostille (if applicable).
Send a photo (white background, without earrings, glasses or anything covering your face).
Send a proof of your legal permanency if you are living in a different country than your home.
Fill out the power of attorney for the Consulate where you authorize us to apply for the visa under your name.
Confirm that your passport will have at least six (6) blank pages by June, and is valid for at least one more year.
February - April
Ensure all essential documents are sent to HR.
Complete Sura Insurability Form.
April - June
Send your visa information to Sandra Restrepo at srestrepo@columbus.edu.co.
Finalize your flight information with TCS’ travel agent - information will come from HR and the travel agent to begin this process.
Choose if you would like to enroll in the TCS Corporate Cell Phone & Internet Plans (This is being done through the zoom calls with HR, if you need further information, please contact us at +57 3164417969).
