THE Boulder Summit on Discipline-Based Professional Development

The Boulder Summit on STEM Discipline-Based Professional Development is a working meeting of minds with about 50 participants who are engaged in discipline-based professional development (DBPD) on STEM undergraduate teaching. We’ll exchange ideas with others across the STEM fields who do this kind of work, seeking to identify our best ideas and hardest challenges. The program will include plenary talks, posters, whole-group and breakout discussions, and we will capture this material and use it to develop a white paper about current best practices for discipline-based professional development in STEM higher education. It will be lively and thought-provoking. We will practice what we preach.

What better place for a summit than in the Mountain West? The DBPD STEM Summit will be held in Boulder, Colorado, at the historic Hotel Boulderado in downtown Boulder. Our grant will cover your airfare (or mileage and parking if you drive), two nights lodging, and 5 meals.

The Summit starts at 4 pm on Wednesday, November 6, and ends at 12 noon on Friday, November 8, 2019.
