Parents/Guardians:
Please communicate with Cologne Academy's front desk in the same manner you did this year before distance learning was implemented in order to report your child’s daily absence. For example, if your child is sick and unable to participate in any part of distant learning for the day, please let the front desk know for each day of absence needed.
It is the Minnesota Department of Education and Cologne Academy directive to ensure that all enrolled CA students receive and participate in their education and learning. This shift places an increased partnership on the home. Research supports that students work best with routines and structures. Please work to impart schedules and routines in your child's day that follow a typical school day to the extent that your situation allows.
Learning will occur in both a synchronous and asynchronous environment. Daily teacher interaction is the expectation of distance learning. To this end, Cologne Academy realizes that for some families the dynamics may limit interaction with a teacher during the typical school day hours. This interaction can include instruction and feedback from the teacher or other licensed staff and the student through online learning platforms, email, phone, etc.
Minnesota Statute -Attendance in Cologne Academy Distance learning is REQUIRED by Law. School is still in session from 3/30/20 - 5/28/30 see school calendar for no school/holidays/breaks.
