About the Center
Welcome to the CES Center for Emerging Educational Practice website!
The CES Center for Emerging Educational Practice serves as a resource hub for teachers, education leaders, practitioners, care-givers, policy-makers, researchers and other education decision-makers who are working to ensure that all students thrive, especially in the unique contexts of small and mid-sized districts.
We offer practical toolkits, research-based guides and tips, as well as professional development opportunities for educators who want to grow their own professional practice and improve educational systems at every level – classrooms, schools, districts and communities.
MISSION
The mission of the Center for Emerging Educational Practice (CEEP) is to convene interdisciplinary teams from within CES and our network of partners to develop accessible resources tailored to a diverse range of audiences. From teachers and education leaders to practitioners, caregivers, policymakers, researchers, and other education decision-makers, CEEP collaborates with experts and practitioners to create resources that support, inspire, and inform. Our process is iterative, driven by research, reflection and dialogue, to address pressing needs in the educational community, with a focus on the unique contexts of small and mid-sized districts.
VISION
Our vision is of an equitable society that deeply values public education and recognizes the invaluable expertise of educators. We envision public PK-12 school systems that are rooted in principles of equity, fostering environments where both teachers and students can thrive. We aspire to empower educators to feel a profound sense of professional efficacy across all aspects of their practice, while ensuring students experience a profound sense of wellbeing, belonging, inclusion, and efficacy within their schools.
WHO WE ARE
The CES Center for Emerging Educational practice is a resource developed and managed by the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) – a public nonprofit, educational service agency that offers direct and support services to students, educators and clients in Massachusetts and across New England and beyond. The work of CES specialists combines expertise across multiple disciplines—content specialists, social justice trainers, instructional technology, research, and evaluation—for comprehensive and customized approaches, grounded in an equity lens and responding to challenging district, school, and educator concerns. The Center for Emerging Educational Practices has been created to host the practical, research-based tools, guides, and frameworks that have been developed through that work.
The contributors to resources on this website are staff members at CES, as well as a range of experts and educators.
