Our institution is a professional gastronomy-catering school with about one thousand students and hundred seventy staff. It is the oldest school in the region as matters concerns, established in 1959 its reputation increased with the passing of years thanks to the continuous participation, planning and organisation of events, cooperations with public bodies and private companies for students training placements. The school offers courses in gastronomy - reception skills for daily education and evening classes for working people too, offering them the opportunity to acquire a qualification useful for their profession and career. Students are encouraged to attend our school since they prefer doing laboratory to academic classes, as a consequence they need different stimuli and encouragement to rise their schooling motivation. Their origin, social, cultural, economic background greatly affects their approach to education. There are however students willing to learn both practical and academic subjects but lacking the opportunities to experience professional and language periods abroad. Our institution is also the leading school for disable children being offered individual teaching and training cooperating with external companies. After five year course all of our students get a qualification which allow them to enter the job market. Participation in a European project will lead them in the meantime to meet youngsters from other European countries, to live and experience new situations while measuring with different realities.
