NEWSPAPER

On 1 May 2022, the groups from the partner countries of the "Who is knocking at my door" project landed at Valentia airport to participate in the first mobility after two years of the pandemic. To welcome us Ester with every kind of comfort, the map of Valentia and the instructions to get to the hotel.

Our group consisted of 5 pupils, 3 girls and 2 boys and two teachers.

The week's program included work sessions at the school in the morning and visits to the city and its surroundings in the afternoon.

On 2 May, after an initial moment of socializing enlivened by a snack, the different groups from Turkey, Belgium, Sweden, the UK, Italy and the host group introduced themselves and got to know the other students by participating in icebreaking activities in groups and in pairs.

After lunch at the school canteen, the afternoon was enlivened by a walk in the center of Valentia, to discover the Spanish history and culture of the place-

On May 3, the work focuses on immigration and the immigrant boys introduce themselves to the group, talking about their personal experience, the welcome of perspectives. The students are divided into groups and participate in a Role Playing activity in which the immigrant boys told their experience and the others who listened had to represent what they heard. Each group therefore created a billboard to form a long frieze and write a few descriptive sentences of what they had achieved.

After the lunch break, to the great excitement of the boys, we went to visit the Mestalla football stadium and the museum attached to it with a guide.

On 4 May he was enlivened by a theatrical performance by the boys of the Colegio Pio XII. The script based on feelings, love, homosexuality and diversity involved all the boys and opened the debate on tolerance, inclusion and civil rights. The students played, sang and danced.

After the lunch break we went to visit the Art and Sciences City, Oceanographic.

On May 5, after a week of heavy rain that caused many changes in plans, the sun came out and we managed to go to the naturalistic oasis of El Palmar where we enjoyed the splendid lagoon environment with a memorable boat trip. After the lunch based on Pella Valentiana, the students lay down on the beach of el Saler.

On May 6, the groups met for the last day on Malvarrosa beach, to play together and say goodbye.

In this week in Valentia we must remember the evenings in which kids had the opportunity to eat and be together to strengthen the sense of belonging to a single community, the human one.

Thanks to all the team of the Colegio Pio XII in Valentia and above all to Ester who masterfully coordinated this experience.
