LEARN
In this phase, you will submit a copy of the linked plan above. This will allow you to determine your...
Goals. Describe the goal of your L3. What are you hoping to learn about, accomplish, create, do?
Questions. Generate an inquiry question and a list of supporting questions that will guide your research in the LEARN phase. Think about what you are hoping to answer, explore, learn, etc.
Resources. List the resources you will access throughout your L3 experience. You might include what you will READ, who you will MEET, and places you will GO.
What will you read? What background knowledge do you need? How will you gather information?
Who will you meet? Who might support you with this or be resources for you throughout this experience?
Where will you go? Does your proposal involve visiting any local organizations or businesses?
From there you will...
Describe your process by creating a timeline below that includes as much detail as you can at this point about the specific tasks you will complete during your L3 experience. Include informal weekly check-ins and at least 3 Formal Progress Checks with your L3 advisor.
Create a time log that includes the dates, times, details, etc. that you work on your L3 experience.
Weekly Check-ins
Students are required to check in with their advisor a minimum of once every other week. This is just an informal update about what you have been doing, as well as a chance to receive support. Students will need to schedule their meetings with their advisor for a mutually beneficial time. Since L3 does not meet during a regularly scheduled class period, these weekly check-ins may occur before or after school, during AT, or at other times throughout the day if the student and their advisor are both free.
Progress Checks
Students will have a minimum of 3 Formal Progress Checks with their L3 advisor before their final defense. The format of these progress checks can be designed in collaboration with the advisor. Progress checks should address accomplishments, learning, and progress on CHS Essential Expectations.
