Exhibit!
Part 1:
Describe your final exhibition in as much detail as possible. Consider the following questions:
- How will you demonstrate your learning?
- Who will be the audience?
- How will you share this with others?
Part 2:
Congratulations! You have reached the end of your L3 experience and have much to celebrate. The final step in this process is to engage in a defense with your advisor and at least one other person you would like to invite, a mentor, teacher, parents/guardians, friend, etc. The purpose of the defense is for you to demonstrate your proficiency in each EE you selected as well as to reflect upon your overall experience, including your successes and challenges, how well you achieved your goals, and further areas of exploration and personal growth. This defense will determine your final proficiency scores and your Pass/Fail credit for L3.
*It is required that you prepare:
- an agenda, typed and printed (enough copies for everyone present at your conference); this should include the topics outlined below. You may use the outline below as a template for your agenda or choose to organize the topics differently.
- a visual (slideshow or other) that acts as a guide for your defense; this must include a discussion of the topics outlined below in the sample agenda.
Sample Agenda:
1. Introduction
- Welcome everyone to the conference and introduce those around the table.
- Describe your topic and experience - why did you choose your topic? How did it change or evolve throughout the process?
2. Successes & Challenges
- Discuss the challenges or setbacks you experienced. How did you overcome them?
- Discuss your successes. What helped you achieve success towards your goals?
3. EEs & Goals
- Provide an overview of the EEs you worked towards. Why did you choose these EEs? Did these change over the course of your experience? If so, explain.
- Provide multiple pieces of evidence for each EE.
- This should be the primary focus of the defense
- Provide specific samples of work (doesn’t have to be limited to what was created on paper)
- Reflect on your path towards proficiency. Did you have difficulty meeting any of the EEs? Explain.
4. Reflect & Next Steps
- Discuss what you learned about yourself throughout this experience.
- Discuss your next steps (this could be related to your topic or you as a learner).
- Acknowledge and thank anyone that was particularly helpful throughout this experience.
