Laker Library Book Club
This fall we launched our 2024-25 Book Club and we've been having a great time reading and discussing wonderful books. In the fall we read the book Accountable by Dashka Slater. The group enjoyed insightful and thought-provoking discussions. We highly recommend this non-fiction book!
Our current read is the VT Reads book, Gather by Vermont author, Kenneth M. Cadow. So far we're thoroughly intrigued by this book and having great conversations about the characters, writing style, and all of the important themes it explores. Our next meeting is March 21st and we'd love to welcome you into our group.
See Ms. Binder to join, and pick up your free copy of the book today!

CHS "Read Widely" Contest
Looking for a little incentive to read some fresh books? Do you love winning stuff? Then this opportunity is for you.
Here's how it works:
The CHS Library provides a wide array of book recommendation lists (we call them "spotlight lists") which you can find here. Each list focuses on a different genre or type of book (hence the whole "read widely" thing). Read any three books from three different lists, and complete this Google form by June 1st. The contest is open to all Lakers (students, faculty, and staff).
Everyone who completes the form will be entered into a raffle to win some cool Laker gear!
That's it! Read three great books in three months. Get some fun gear.
See Ms. Binder or Ms. Kupferer with questions.
ComicsPlus* Reading Challenge
If you love graphic novels or Manga, this challenge is for you. Complete the reading challenge by choosing your path through the gameboard (see below). All students who complete the reading challenge will be entered to win cool Laker gear OR a $15 gift certificate to Phoenix Books. Get your gameboard today in the library, or click on the button below to print your own and get started.
*ComicsPlus is our new e-book source for graphic novels and Manga titles. Browse and read all on your device (sign in with your CSD Google account to gain access). There's a huge array of titles in the ComicsPlus catalog. Check it out today.
