If you don't have ActiveInspire on your CMS issued device, please contact Mr. Dickerson. He'll work with downtown to get you a copy. (Just learned only the CMS engineer can install it. That won't happen with the current crisis.)

ActivInsprire has a built-in screen recorder. It is best to use your laptop because you have the built in microphone and a touch screen. By using the touchscreen, you can record all of your interactions with the screen as if you were teaching in your classroom on the board.

How to Make a Video in PowerPoint (Links to an external site.)

PowerPoint allows you to Export your ppt as a movie with all of your transitions and narrations. What is nice about PowerPoint is that you can record narration on each slide without having to start the entire recording session over if you make a mistake.

Read Write for Google – using the Text to Speech Tool

Students have the Read Write for Google tool enabled on their Chrome Browser extensions. This is frequently used for EC, 504, ELL modifications.

Microsoft's Immersive Reader's Program (Links to an external site.)

Provides diverse learners a less distracting way of read aloud accommodations with Word 365 documents.

Screencastify (Links to an external site.)

An Introduction to Screencastify (Links to an external site.)

This is a free extension that can be added to your Chrome Browser. The free version only let's you create short videos but that is best for student learning giving chunks of information.

We are currently investigating a school wide purchase. It is best to use your laptops or a Chromebook since they have built in microphones. AK Technology Services currently does not have a supply of microphones but I believe we ordered some recently.

You can record directly into the Canvas platform. This is best done with the use of your laptop as there is a built in microphone and camera.
