SMHS TRANSCRIPT

A transcript from SMHS details your contact information, graduation year and diploma type, CTE concentration (if earned), the overall credits that you attempted by grade level, weighted and unweighted GPA, class rank, and test scores*. Dual enrollment classes taken during the school day are also included, and those classes with 3 or more credit hours are factored into your GPA.

*SAT and ACT test scores are not included and must be requested directly from the testing agency.

TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS

If you are requesting an electronic transcript as a current student for personal use (i.e. scholarships, athletics), please contact your assigned counselor. Allow 24-48 hours for processing.

If you are requesting an initial, mid-year, or final electronic transcript to be delivered to a college or university, please make a request through Naviance using the "Request Transcripts" link under "Colleges I'm Applying To" after you have linked your account to CommonApp. If the college or university does not use CommonApp, you can still request transcripts using Naviance, but they will be sent through Parchment.

If you are requesting a transcript to be sent to a CFNC school, you can send to five schools at a time through the Application Hub.

If you are requesting a sealed transcript for official use (i.e. DMV, employment, college/university, accredited organization), please contact your assigned counselor or the registrar.

If you are requesting a transcript as a graduated student, please use the transcript request for graduates.

GRADE SUPPRESSION AND CREDIT RECOVERY

Students have the right to have the grades of the most recently failed class suppressed from their transcript if they either retake the class or if they take an equivalent class that they then pass, whether in-person or online. When a grade is suppressed, this removes the failed class from the transcript and the GPA/class rank calculation.

Students have the option to recover graduation credits instead of suppressing grades by taking the failed class* on Edgenuity. After a student completes 100% of the course at 60% or higher, the student then passes the class, recovers the credit, and receives a "P" on their transcript. This would mean that the failed class and the credit recovery class would both appear on this document, but the student would be able to count that passed class credit toward their 24 required graduation credits. Credit recovery classes appear with an "XR" in their course name. *If the failed class was an EOC course, the student may only take the Edgenuity class if they took or plan to take that exam.
