A little bit about me...

Hi! My name is Katelyn Gardepe and I am excited to be your child's teacher this year. This will be my 17th year teaching, 15 of which have been in Charlotte, NC.

I moved from Vernon, NJ in 2010 and have been in Charlotte ever since. When I first moved to the city, I worked at a Title 1 school in North Charlotte. In 2016, I began teaching 5th grade at Selwyn. Since then, I have been back and forth between the 4th grade classroom and various support positions within the school. This year, I am excited to return to the classroom to teach 4th grade math. 

I have two kiddos of my own. My youngest, Carter, is 3 years old. My oldest, Cayden, is 13 years old and entering 8th grade this year. (Living proof that time flies!)
