Meet Mrs. Vernon

Hello everyone!

 My name is Channing Vernon, and I am so excited to be in fourth grade at Selwyn Elementary again this year! This will be my second year at Selwyn and eighth year teaching.
Before moving back to NC last year, I enjoyed the beach life while teaching 4th and 5th grade in South Florida. This invaluable experience has not only deepened my passion for teaching but also equipped me with effective strategies to engage and inspire students. I am excited to continue this adventure at Selwyn, where I will continue to foster a love for learning among my students.

 North Carolina has always held a special place in my heart as I grew up in Boone and attended Appalachian State University! During my free time, I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, and spending time with my husband and our mini Goldendoodle, Dallas. And of course, a trip to Starbucks is always on the agenda!
