Seniors, congratulations on choosing Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) after graduation! It is one of the best community colleges in the country and there are many advantages to attending there including a vast array of choices-there are hundreds of programs and certificates in relevant fields-and an amazing College Transfer program students can attend CPCC for one or two years, get an excellent education, and then transfer to a four-year college (great way to save money on college tuition while also taking “General Education” requirements for a four-year college or university!
Here are the steps for Seniors to sign up to attend CPCC next year. If you need help on any or all of these steps please see Ms. Folk – she has done this hundreds of times and would be very happy to assist!

Do you want to get a Fall 2023 course schedule/get PRIORITY registration and get your schedule for your Freshman year classes in April? Make sure to complete the above steps by February 2023 *BTW-if you are still not SURE if you are going to go to CPCC it is ok to do everything to get a schedule and then if you end up changing your mind there are no consequences-just let them know (or don’t pay for your classes) by July 1st and the classes will be dropped with no consequences.
Sign up to attend the CPCC Summer Bridge program? You will get 6 credits for FREE (that equals two classes). The Summer Bridge program is from June 19th-July 28th from 8am-1pm Mondays-Thursdays. Write this into your calendar and make sure your family knows so you don’t have any vacation/conflicts during this time because it is a really easy way to get free college credits and a GREAT way to transition right to college.
Did you fill out your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with a parent or guardian? If not-please do this soon! The sooner you fill out the FAFSA (after the application opens each year on October 1st) then the better position you will be in to get financial aid if you qualify for aid.
If you plan to transfer to a four-year college then make sure to go to one of the CPCC campuses and sign up for a session with a “Transfer Counselor” so you can make a plan for transferring. Do this before you begin your first semester.
Good luck! Remember to stop in to see Ms. Folk if you have any questions!
