Course Selection Process for Current OHS Students

During Homeroom current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will complete their course requests.  

Prior to the Registration Process students should review the following information so they are prepared to make their selections:

• Course Placement Considerations

• Graduation Requirements in the 2024-2025 CMS High School Planning Guide

• Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways Chart and the CTE Elective List

• Specific Grade Level Course Selection Card

After student make their Course Selections, the next step in the course registration process consists of the OHS school counselors conducting virtual  individual sessions with their students through the student's  first block class to review their course selections and enter the selections in PowerSchool.  Below is our registration schedule:

2/5/2024- 2/9/2024 - Rising Grade 11 Advisement Meetings with Counselors 

2/12/24- 2/16/2024 - Rising Grade 12 Advisement Meetings with Counselors 

2/20/2024 - 2/23/2024 - Rising Grade 10 Advisement Meetings with Counselors 

Please keep in mind that these are Course Selections.  Every effort will be made to enroll students in their first choice selections; however, occasionally due to schedule constraints some classes may not be offered or may not fit in a student's schedule.  Therefore, students will be asked to select alternates for their elective choices.  Final schedules will be generated during the late summer.

Course Selection Cards

Below you will find the course selection cards by grade level for the 2024-2025 academic school year. Students should review their specific course selection card and choose their courses based on the options listed on the card and the course placement considerations.  Students will then use this information to enter their course selections.  OHS school counselors will then begin meeting with their students starting February 5th to conduct individual advisement sessions.

Below you will the Rising 9th Grade Course Selection Reference Card and Video.  Please view the video prior to making your course selections.  The course card is for your reference only.  You may print the card to draft your course selections, if you would like to do so.  Otherwise you may simply reference it to plan your course selections. Course selection cards will not be collected.
