Overview of the Student Services

Mission Statement

The mission of the NWSA Student Services Department is to deliver a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and personal/social needs of all students. Through partnership with students, parents, educators, and the community, NWSA Counselors facilitate support systems to ensure that all students are academically and socially prepared to become healthy and productive members of the global community.

The services we provide include:


Academic Development

  • Classroom guidance activities

  • Academic advisement for course selection and career planning

  • Counseling students with academic needs

  • Consultation with parents and teachers for academic success

Career Development

  • Career guidance activities

  • Assistance with college application process

  • Assistance with scholarship search

  • Parent workshops and information sessions

Personal/Social Development

  • Individual Counseling

  • Consultation with parents and teachers

  • Crisis intervention

  • Referrals to community resources

  • Transition support for new students




RESOURCES

Say Something Anonymous Reporting System

The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System enables students to anonymously report an issue 24/7/365 through an app, hotline, or website when they see a classmate who is at risk of harming themselves or others. All students have been trained as of 9/13/22.

What if I have a crisis or emergency situation in which I or someone I know needs to talk to someone?
