I grew up in The Palmetto State and received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Winthrop University.  I've been a middle school counselor at Northwest for 15+ years. 

My family and I live in Cabarrus county and stay pretty busy.  When I have free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with family, DIY projects and watching football and track and field.

 I am from the small but mighty town of Cross, South Carolina the lowcountry of Charleston SC. I have been a school counselor for 5 years now, where I started my career in Cabarrus County. I have my Undergraduate degree from Lander University and my Masters from Capella University. 

I am here with my husband and our four-legged child Izzy.  In my free time I enjoy watching my shows, spending time with family, and trying new foods and candles.

I grew up in Anderson SC and attended Columbia College. I later earned my master’s degree in school counselling at Clemson University.   I have been a school counselor at NWSA since 1999 so that probably makes me the faculty member who has now been there the longest.  How time flies.  

I have been married for 41 years and have 2 children.  A daughter Kelly, 32, and a son Clay, 28.  As the moto goes, Northwest is Simply the Best.

I grew up in Pittsburgh and I love the Pittsburgh Steelers.  I graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BS Degree in Psychology and an MEd in School Counseling.  This will be my 25th year of being a school counselor.


I am a single father raising my 2 daughters.  In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being at the beach, listening to music, going to concerts and sporting events.  I am excited to be a part of the NWSA family!

School Social Worker: David Fee

I am David Fee, MSW, new social worker for NWSA. I am a retired social worker from Mecklenburg County's child protective services after 25 years. There I dealt with many of the same issues that today's active modern students face. In my spare time I hope to immerse myself in the campus arts scene.  Stringed instruments are my thing and I run an instrument library for the Charlotte Folk Society (among other roles).

Since 1989 I have taught at both the middle and high school levels in New York City and later in Charlotte.  I served as a school counselor from 2015 until I transitioned to my current position as a Section 504 Coordinator in April, 2022.  I coached Odyssey of the Mind teams for ten years.

School Base Mental Health Therapist: Allie Silber

Alexandra (Allie) Silber is a contractor through Atrium Health. She provides outpatient mental health services to students in the school setting. She is from Pennsylvania and resides in Charlotte with her partner and Australian Shephard, Fela. They enjoy camping, game nights, and spending time with loved ones. If you are interested in learning more about school based mental health services please contact your student's school counselor. 

Referrals for services is through your grade level counselor

Academic Facilitator: Margaret Maurice  

I grew up in the Green Mountain state of Vermont and I also lived in the Philippines. I went to graduate school at Georgia State University and have worked in education for more than two decades. At NWSA, I serve as an Instructional Coach, Staff Professional Development lead, Onboarding Coordinator of New Hires, AIG Coordinator, ML Contact, BTSP Coordinator, Student Teacher Liaison and much more. I love supporting teachers, students and staff while striving to actively contribute to the vision and mission of NWSA in pursuit of excellence in academics, arts, and humanities.
