About Me:

My name is Caroline Corzine (she, her) and I am the School Social Worker at Butler High school. I grew up in New York and live in Matthews with my family. I received my undergraduate and graduate degree in Social Work from Widener University. I am also a licensed clinical social worker. I love football season and cheering on the Carolina Panthers! I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering in the community and exploring new places.

Who Are School Social Workers?

School Social Workers are licensed and/or trained mental health professionals with a degree in social work serving diverse groups of students, families, schools, and communities. School Social Workers provide evidence-based social emotional, and mental health services, as well as provide individual and group counseling/therapy. School Social Workers promote a safe and equitable school climate and culture supporting positive academic and behavioral outcomes. School Social Workers collaborate with school and community resources empowering students to reach their full potential.

Student Support Services

Student support services, also known as "student services" includes prevention, intervention, transition and follow-up services for students and families. Student support services professionals provide direct services for all students, especially those who are experiencing problems that create barriers to learning. Direct services are provided by means such as education, counseling, consultation and individual assessment and referral.
