(Incoming students for the 2025-26 school year will be sent registration information separately, as it will differ.)
A Google form will be emailed at 8:30AM on Monday, March 24 to your CMS email. Please complete the form to register for your 2025-2026 high school classes. High school classes are on a first-come basis. You can assume you got your first choice classes if you do not receive an email stating otherwise.
I sent current juniors an email with their remaining high school graduation requirements on March 6 (it should be in your CMS email with the subject "Credits Remaining for High School Graduation". All remaining courses must be taken during 12th grade.
English IV must be taken in person at Levine either the fall or spring semester. If you took AP Lang as a junior, I encourage you to continue with AP Lit as a senior, particularly if you will be applying to competitive colleges. Colleges want you to maintain the same level of rigor your senior year. AP Lit can earn credit for ENG 241 with CPCC, not ENG 112.
Registration will open Friday, March 28 at 7:30AM.
Schedule an appointment with our CPCC Advisor, Sally Sullivan, to select your classes. I would recommend meeting with her as soon as possible, as she will be spending a lot of her time with new students starting in April. You can schedule an appointment with her here. Her schedule opens 30 days out (for example, appointments for April 30 will open March 31).
If you are currently in an AP class that may meet a prerequisite for a class you want to take in the fall (ex: AP Lang = ENG 111 = prereq for ENG 112, PHI classes, and a few others; AP Calc = MAT 271/272 = prereq for MAT 273, PHY 251), you will not be able to register for the fall class until your AP credit is entered by CPCC. You will receive your AP score report in early July and can send that to me to submit to CPCC to add the credit, and will be able to register then.
My workaround for registering for ENG 112 in the fall if you're in AP Lang is to register for a section of ENG-111 the first 8 weeks and a section of ENG 112 the second 8 weeks. Once your scores are in and entered by CPCC, you can drop the ENG 111 course (make sure you do this- I can't do this for you). If you don't pass the AP exam, you'll already be registered for both courses.
WHEN: Registration is already open, runs until classes start (first day of classes is May 21)
ADVISING: Please meet with our CPCC Advisor, Sally Sullivan, to select your summer and 2025-2026 classes. You can schedule an appointment with her here.
$$$: The tuition for summer classes is covered for middle college students, but students are responsible for paying for any fees and books/materials. You will be able to view the fees in the Student Finance section of MyCollege as soon as you are registered for the course, and can pay on there as well. If you cannot pay the fees, you can drop the class before it starts with no penalty. Once the class starts, you will not receive a full refund if you drop or withdraw from the course (CPCC Refund Policy: https://www.cpcc.edu/admissions/tuition-and-payment/refund-policies#:~:text=The%20college%20will%20refund%20appropriate,the%20college%20cancels%20the%20class.)
Deadline to Pay: This will be closer to when summer classes start. I will send out the information once I receive it from CPCC.
Grades: Grades for summer CPCC classes will be added to your high school transcript and will be weighted as they are in the fall and spring semesters.
Graduating Students: The tuition would be covered for your classes as long as you are not completing an associates degree in the spring semester and the course starts before our high school graduation date (May 23). If you register for a course that starts after May 23, the tuition will not be covered.
Assistance with Summer Classes: Ms. Van Lauwe does not work fulltime over the summer, so please contact our CPCC Advisor, Sally Sullivan, if you need to make changes to a CPCC summer class.
I will update this as soon as I have information (and will send an email and announcement in the Friday newsletter). In past years, students have been able to take one high school class required for graduation (not English IV) online during the summer through Edgenuity. The social studies courses (Econ & Personal Finance, American/World History, and Civic Literacy) are standard level courses, which will not be weighted in your GPA.
