Faculty Information

Ceremony

• Arrive by 3:30 pm.  Ceremony begins at 4:00.

• Wear black gown (either provided by the school or your own if you have one). Hoods are worn only if you have an advanced degree.  If you do not have a gown and/or stole, please see Emily Williams.  Faculty does not wear a mortarboard cap.  We will have a gown and hood pick up day a few days before the ceremony.

• WEAR YOUR SCHOOL ID

• CMS policy states you are not allowed to bring your children into the backstage area or on the arena floor.

• Faculty (who are not part of the backstage team) will march in before the students and sit on the far right and left sides of the arena floor.  Faculty, including the backstage team, is not permitted to stand in the tunnels during the ceremony. 

• The ceremony will last approximately one hour.

• At the conclusion of the ceremony, faculty will create the "human tunnel" to applaud graduates as they exit the arena floor.  

For faculty who have a child or family member who is a graduate

• If your child or family member is an Indy graduate, you are welcome to sit in the stands with your family.  You can also sit with faculty on the arena floor if you prefer.

• If your child is graduating from another high school, CMS offers leave time so you can attend.

Rehearsal 

Friday June 6th, 2024 from  7:00-8:30 pm.  Backstage team should arrive at 6:30.

Only faculty who have an active role in the ceremony need to attend rehearsal.  This includes:

• administration

• backstage team

• Junior Marshalls 

• name caller

• security team

• SRO

• band director (optional)

• JROTC (optional)
