How do I get my cap and gown?

Caps, gowns, and tassels will be delievered to the school and distributed in the mall at a date TBD.

I only need a tassel. I already have a cap and gown. Can I get just a tassel?

Yes. Contact Herff Jones at 704-531-0015. You can also email at hjcharlotte@herffjones.com   

Which side does the tassel go on?

Your tassel should be on the RIGHT side of your cap.  During the ceremony, you will be directed to turn the tassel to the left side.

Do guests need to have a ticket to the graduation ceremony?

No.  Graduates may invite as many guests as they like.

Are graduates and their guests required to wear a mask?

No.  Graduates and guests may choose to wear a face covering, but it is not required.

Will the ceremony be livestreamed?

Yes--CMS will air the ceremony live via their YouTube channel.  Link is on the graduation homepage. 

Will there be a photographer at the ceremony? 

Yes--CMS will provide a photographer to take a photo of each graduate after they exit the stage.  To access your photos, text 90738 and enter this code: PGER66394.

Are accommodations available for guests who need them?

Guests who use wheelchairs or walkers will be escorted to a designated viewing area.  An American Sign Language interpreter will be provided upon request.  To request an ASL interpreter, please email emily.williams@cms.k12.nc.us as soon as possible.

I am not attending the ceremony.  How can I get my diploma?

You can pick up your diploma at the school the first weekday following the ceremony. 

Do  I have to come to the rehearsal?

Yes--this is CMS policy.  "I have to work" is NOT considered an acceptable reason to  miss rehearsal.  If you absolutely cannot attend, please complete this form ASAP:
