Are you a current 11th or 12th grader interested in learning more about taking classes at Central Piedmont Community College while enrolled at Hough?
Registration for dual enrollment classes at Central Piedmont Community College opens in September for Spring 2025 and March for Summer/Fall 2025!
Qualified high-school-age students in North Carolina can jumpstart their career or college education while still in high school — tuition free.
Earn FREE college credit & HS elective credit
Available to 11th & 12th graders
Minimum 2.8 Unweighted GPA, OR must meet college readiness scores: ACT, SAT, PSAT, Pre-ACT
Apply to CPCC and complete all of the required enrollment steps.
Please Note!! Just signing up for a HOLD on your registration card does not guarantee enrollment in CPCC classes. You must complete the entire CPCC registration process.

MeckPathways Summer Internship Program
About:
Mecklenburg County offers internship opportunities in several departments. As an intern for Mecklenburg County, you’ll get exposure to the real world, make important connections through our vast network of professionals, and gain a competitive edge that makes you standout. If you are civic-minded and want to make an impact in our community, check out the opportunities available.
What is Meckpathways?
The program provides Juniors and Seniors an opportunity to gain professional work experience that connects their classroom experiences and potential career choices. The goal of the program is to provide a variety of opportunities for students to learn about public service professions.

Rise to Success is a sponsorship program that enables high school graduates to earn an associate degree or a certification in a health care related discipline from a local community college. Tuition, textbooks, activity fees and scrubs are paid by Atrium Health. While participants are in college, they are hired into an entry-level part-time position.
CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must meet these minimum requirements in order to be considered for the Rise to Success program.
Graduated with a high school diploma ( *18 years of age by August 1, 2024)
Have a minimum 3.00 GPA
Must complete and submit all required application materials
Rise to Success covers tuition and textbooks at a local community college as selected participants work towards an Associates degree. Participants are also hired into part-time positions at Atrium Health while they’re in college. Requirements include a minimum 3.0 high school GPA. Applications begin February 2023.
Candidates should have plans to study in a health care related field* leading to an associate’s degree. Examples include:
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) And Paramedic Programs
Medical Assistant
Medical Laboratory Technology
Nursing
Pharmacy Technology
Radiology
Respiratory Therapy
Surgical Technologist
**Other health care fields of study will be considered
