Welcome to 8th Grade Science!

My name is Ms. Hucks and I am so excited to have you in my science class! I hope your summer was restful and relaxing. Our goal this year will be to eagerly explore science; always challenging ourselves to learn more and grow. Your mission is to always give me your best, no matter what that may look like.

I was born and raised in Charlotte! GO PANTHERS! I moved to Wilmington, NC in 2008 to obtain 2 degrees from the University of North Carolina Wilmington: BA in Accounting and M.A.T. in Elementary Education. Though not in order, I have taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science. This will be my 8th year of teaching and my second year at Governors’ Village STEM Academy. I am extremely excited for us to work hard and play hard this school year!
