Student Parking Violations and Fines
Because transportation is provided for all CMS students, student parking on campus is a privilege granted by the school administration. By completing the online application/contract, both parents and students agree to abide by all East Mecklenburg High School and CMS rules and guidelines as detailed in the this contract. Infractions of these rules may result in the loss of parking privileges for the remainder of the school year. Additional consequences may be invoked by an administrator if deemed appropriate.
Below is a list of *some* parking infractions:
- Parking in a No Parking Zone
- Parking in Teachers or Visitors space (may lose current and future parking privileges)
- Not parking in assigned space
- Taking up more than your assigned space
- Failure to display valid parking pass
- Falsifying or forging a permit (will lose current and future parking privileges)
- Unsafe driving practices (may lose current and future parking privileges)
*The first violation for students will result in a $25.00 fine.
*Students who commit a 2nd violation (any infraction) will receive one additional $25.00 fine.
*Students who commit a 3rd violation (any infraction) will have their vehicle booted ($35.00 fine to remove). Student may lose parking privileges.
*Students who commit a 4th violation (any infraction) will have their vehicle towed at the owner’s expense and will immediately lose their parking privileges.
