CCP/Dual Enrollment Pathways can be found here: www.cpcc.edu/programs/dual-enrollment
College Transfer Pathway - General education classes for a two-year or four-year college degree. NOTE: Not all courses will transfer to ALL colleges and universities, make sure you research the schools of interest to verify acceptance of the transfer credits.
Career & Technical Education Pathway -
Over 50 different pathways where students can start career training while still in high school. Students can earn credits toward a job credential, certificate or diploma in a technical career. Some Career and Technical Pathways require a minimum 2.8 Unweighted GPA AND benchmark assessment scores in all areas of English, Reading, and Math.
Important Information to Remember
*You may choose one College Transfer Pathway and one Career and Technical Education Pathway OR two Career and Technical Education Pathways. You will only be able to register for classes in the pathway(s) you select. You will not be earning an Associates Degree in this program you are working towards that goal on a pathway of our choice.
If you know what degree you will pursue (in college/university), you can go to your chosen college/university website and see the classes you would need for that degree and see how your CPCC courses will transfer.
If you looking at an out-of-state and/or private college/university, please look at the college/university website or call their admissions office to see how/if CPCC classes will transfer.
Helpful Reminders
Career and College Promise classes are in addition to East /CMS classes and are done outside of your East Meck schedule or during early dismissal periods.
You can only register for classes in the pathway(s) you selected; otherwise, you will be considered out of pathway and will be dropped from the course(s).
The courses you want might not be available each semester and may not be available the days/times you want. There is also no guarantee that "seats" will be open when you register for classes (classes are on a first-come, first-served basis).
There are online, in-person, and hybrid (a mix of online and in-person) courses available and can meet during the day, evening/night. Look under MyCollege to see and plan your class schedule.
The college offers 16 week, 12 week, 8 week, and even 4 week classes (4 week classes are typically not recommended for dual enrollment students).
YOU are responsible for knowing your CPCC schedule and showing up (Ms. McGraw will not remind you). If you are taking an online class, your professor will email you on your CPCC email before class starts (sometimes the day before).
You can not drop a class after the class starts (I suggest at least three days before so it gives CPCC time to process the drop request). See Ms. McGraw before you drop a class. If a class is dropped after the deadline, you could fail the course (CPCC and East both transcripts will have an 'F'). East Meck High School cannot access student records at CPCC.
Course name and number will be added to your East Meck schedule once classes start and CPCC sends Ms. McGraw a list of classes you are registered for.
Online Classes: Professors can use Brightspace or another platform. Please check your CPCC email from your professor

Attendance for CPCC courses is required
You must follow CPCC'S academic calendar (found on your CPCC Current Student page) in addition to the CMS academic calendar. You will start school in the fall and spring at least one week prior to the start of the CMS semester. You might also be attending CPCC classes during CMS holidays, fall and spring break, and teacher workdays.
Students may not stay on the East Meck campus during their Career and College Promise periods. You will leave East Meck's campus when you have early dismissal periods.
CPCC tuition is waived for CMS Career and College Promise students (for all semesters, including summer)
Summer Courses: Students are responsible for all student fees and textbooks
Fall/Spring Courses: Students are responsible for textbooks. The state pays for a $17 digital book fee that is included in your tuition.
Fees (Summer only): You pay fees for each class--Click here to see the fees and deadlines -Students will pay any money owed through their CPCC-MyCollege account.
Due to budgetary constraints, students may be responsible for the full cost of textbooks.
The student will be responsible for any additional costs of enrollment when applicable (e.g. student fees, insurance, labs, etc.).
Student fees must be paid by the deadline given by CPCC to prevent being dropped from course(s). Check your balance and pay your bill through your MyCollege account. Fees are non-refundable once the semester starts. For questions about the fee structure, please contact the Sponsored Programs office at 704.330.4262.
The grade(s) you receive from courses taken while enrolled in the CCP Program will count twice (college and high school).
College Transfer Pathway Course(s): Will be listed on your high school transcript as a 5-point scale (similar to Advanced Placement scale).
CTE Pathway Course(s): The CTE courses will have a different scale (most will count as an elective scale on the high school transcript).
If a class is less than 3 credits, it will not be counted on the East Meck High School transcript, but will be on your CPCC transcript (ex: 1 or 2 credit courses).
Grades will be added to you East Meck PowerSchool at the end of the semester when Ms. McGraw receives your grades from CPCC.
Courses at CPCC are given a letter grade, this will be converted to a number grade using the chart to the left.
GRADUATING SENIORS: To send your CPCC transcript to your preferred college, you will need to submit that request through CPCC. You will then meet with your academic counselor at your college and go over how your CPCC classes will transfer to your new school. Click Here
Important Notes: Registration for CPCC’s Career and College Promise Program is a process with specific and necessary steps. Failure to complete any of the steps below will result in exclusion from the Career & College Promise Program. You are applying to college through this process and will be held accountable for all necessary steps. Read the following information carefully.
*SUMMER: Student pays fees (technology, parking pass, labs, and etc.) and textbooks (no credit is given)---Click here to see the fees (fees and deadlines for payments)---This will be paid through your CPCC-MyCollege account.
*FALL/SPRING: Student pays for non digital textbooks through CPCC Bookstore--Click here to see the fees
Step by Step Instructions:
Step 1:
As you complete the application:
When setting up your account, confirm that the name you enter matches the name on your transcript. Later in the application process, you will be able to indicate a preferred name.
When setting up your account, use a personal email, not a school email. We do not recommend using a parent email account.
When uploading your high school transcript, ensure that it includes:
grade level with academic year
high school courses completed and in-progress
unweighted high school GPA
If you need to leave the system before you have completed your application, completed sections will be saved in the system, and you can return to your application using the "Sign In" button on the Get Started page.
You must have your CPCC student ID before you can begin this step. EVERY student must fill out an application below before the deadline.
You received Ms. McGraw's application in your email when you registered your attendance at the information meeting. This is a mandatory step for enrollment in CPCC

MyCollege= is required to access your personal information such as registration, bills, academic records, and student email account. It is also required to log on to the computers at any Central Piedmont campus.
CPCC email =is the college's official means of communicating with students, the cashiering office, instructors, advisors, and for campus alerts. You should check your CPCC student email every day. NOTE: Your professors will only respond to emails sent from the CPCC email address for security reasons, so you MUST check and utilize this email address.

YOU are responsible for signing up for classes that will work well with your East Mecklenburg High School schedule (do not sign up for classes at CPCC when you are on East Meck campus). The Career & College Promise classes will show up on your East Meck schedule as an EXT (Extension) course or as a class period at East Meck. If the CPCC course comes up as a class period, you will need to ignore the class period time and dates on your East Meck schedule...you will go by CPCC'S class date and time. Your East Meck schedule will tell the course name and number. If you have a CPCC early dismissal period(s) at East Meck, that does not mean you have to sign up for a CPCC class during that time frame. You can sign up for classes that work with your East Meck and personal schedule.
Ms. McGraw will not remind you when your class(s) start/end.
You can take 1-3 classes per semester....I never recommend more than this.
-If you are a SENIOR and strictly a CPCC student for spring semester, you MUST take at least TWO classes (minimum of 3 credits for each course) at CPCC to be considered an East Meck/CMS student. Please let Ms. McGraw know if this applies to you (super important for graduation).
Once you are registered for your classes, you may go to the campus where you are taking your classes and pick up your CPCC ID card. Please bring your state issued ID (permit, license, or ID card) and your CPCC ID number. The ID office is always in or near Admissions at each campus. Returning students do not need a new ID card. If you are taking online classes, you do not have to get one.
Once you have registered for classes and have your CPCC Student ID Card, you may pick up your parking decal (where you will be taking your classes) from the cashiers office on campus. Open: M-F 8AM-5PM

When you are on the CPCC campus, I highly recommended looking for your classroom in advance.

Do not purchase your textbooks until you have attended at least one class session. When you checkout at the CPCC Bookstore, you will tell the cashier that you are East Meck High School student (Career & College Promise Dual Enrollment) and should have a credit on your account. Hand the cashier your student ID card so they can verify the credit on your account. If the cashier says there is no money on your account, ask for the manager. Make sure you buy the correct textbook! Please verify the correct textbook with your professor. Only available when funds are available through Career and College Promise Program (textbook credits are not provided for summer classes). You can rent or buy textbooks from the CPCC Bookstore. If your professor tells you to purchase a book/access code online, the $50 credit can be used at the CPCC bookstore to get the access code.
Textbook Information: Please check your CPCC email from the Career & College Promise Program.
Bookstore hours and locations: https://www.cpcc.edu/student-experience/bookstores
$50 credit is given in fall and spring only. This can only be used for purchases at the CPCC Bookstore.
