Crafts Syllabus
2025-2026
Course Description: In Visual Arts, students learn the foundations of art, creativity, and the process, along with the Culture of craftmaking. Crafts courses will also explore different methods of creating crafted art and its connection to indigenous cultures and history. Students study and are tested on a variety of topics in class, including the Elements and Principles of Design, vocabulary, and art criticism within the classroom.
Project Requirements: Individual projects include quizzes/tests to check for understanding. Major projects will be designated as Perform grade equal to 50%. All art is graded using a rubric based on the individual objectives for each project. Projects will be produced over the course of 3-7 class days. There will be a 5 school day grace period for work due but the student will need to work on the project OUTSIDE of class. We will move on and the timing for lessons/projects will continue as per my curriculum.
Academic Integrity: A calendar of All projects will be given out at the beginning of the month listing when work is due. Students should remain aware of due dates, it is their responsibility to manage time inside and outside of class. The expectations are that you will remain organized and timely. Please make sure that you communicate with me when you need assistance in the classroom.
