The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) Teaching Residency is a comprehensive alternative licensure program designed to prepare aspiring educators through a blend of coursework and hands-on teaching experience. The program spans a minimum of 13 months, beginning with a 5-week unpaid pre-service training, followed by a year-long clinical residency.
