To get started, you’ll need the following:
Your updated resume
College transcript(s)
Praxis or Pearson test scores (if applicable)
Once you’ve gathered these documents, upload everything to the CMS Application online portal. If you already have a CMS application please login, click on "My Application" and review your application to make sure the below requirements are completed.
Make sure the "Applicant Type" has "Instructional" at the top of the application
To change or add an application type, click "Change Type" and check "Instructional"
Upload your official degree-dated transcripts from every college you've attended, including transfer credits, community college, and post baccalaureate coursework to the Attachments section of the application.
Click on each page of the application to ensure all information and requirements are updated/complete.
Your application will be screened by a recruiter. In order to advance to the next step in the process, you must upload an official, degree dated transcript from every college you've attended, including transfer credits, community college, and post baccalaureate coursework. After we receive your transcripts you will be contacted with your eligibility.

If you’re accepted into the program, you must meet state certification requirements. This includes passing the state-required certification tests if you do not already have at least 24 hours of relevant coursework as determined by the licensure department.

The CMS Teaching Residency Program offers an affordable pathway to becoming a teacher, with clear and transparent costs outlined below:
Enrollment Fee:
$250 for CMS internal applicants (current employees).
$500 for external applicants.
This non-refundable enrollment fee is applied to your tuition balance.
Tuition:
$2,500 for the entire program.
State Certification Testing Fees: Certification exams required by the state start at approximately $140 per test, but fees may vary depending on the specific exam. Not sure which tests you’ll need to take? Download our testing guide for more details.
edTPA Portfolio Fees: The edTPA application, mandated by the state, comes with a $300 fee. If any portion of your portfolio requires resubmission, additional fees may apply.
