Start this drawing by having your child to line up all their favorite toys outside. You can even tell your child that the toys are having a parade. Put a piece of white paper on the ground behind each toy. Then, challenge your child to trace the shadow on the paper before the sun moves.

Begin by using a Sharpie to draw the face. This part takes practice, and sometimes we practice with our finger or a pencil on the table paper. Young kids tend to draw very small, so we work on using their whole arm rather than just their hand. Once they draw their big circle, fill in the features, hair, and of course the crown! Because moms are the Queens of our homes.

You can make up a couple more batches in different colours if you like. For something special you can add glitter, food essence or essential oil to the water as well as food colouring.

The dough should last at least 3 months if stored well. To store you should try to wrap the dough in plastic wrap, and then store in a sealed container.

You can upcycle any kind of clear, thin plastic. Berry boxes just happen to be what I have on hand. I think some takeout box lids might also work.

- 1/8″ Circle Punch or regular hole punch
- Twine

- Printout of clip art (optional)

- Cut out 3 circles of plastic. Younger kids may need an adult to do this part.
- Color each circle with permanent markers. Trace the clipart if you want to.
- Punch a small hole in each circle using the circle punch or hole punch.
- Tie each piece to the twig with twine.
- Tie a loop to the twig so you can hang up your finished suncatcher.

1. Color the coffee filter with the blue marker and green marker. Remind kids that Earth is made up of a lot more water, so they will want to color more blue than green. It's ok to be messy!

2. Spray coffee filter with water until the coffee filter is saturated. You can do this outside, so that the colored water will drip on the ground or over the sink. As you are spraying the coffee filter, the colors will run and combine. You might need to rotate the coffee filter as you are spraying to get the entire surface.

CHALK YOUR WALK: This week we invite you to create art or write encouraging messages on your driveway or sidewalk with chalk. Creating line designs with tape and chalk is another fun option! Tape off a section of your driveway or sidewalk and begin adding lines with tape. The rule is (A LINE MUST CONNECT TO ANOTHER LINE). You will start to create shapes as the lines connect! Painters tape works great but any tape will do. After taping off your design, color in each shape trying to not to let two of the same color touch. Once each shape has been filled in, pull off the tape and admire you line design!
