The Legal Services Clinic of CMR University School of Legal Studies is open to all members of the public everyday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Upcoming Events
Members of the Clinic are going to visit Morning Star Learning Centre in Chagalatti Village, Yelahanka, an NGO that works for mentally and physically disabled persons. We are also going to organize a Donation Drive on campus as part of this visit and pass on the collections to the NGO.

The Legal Services Clinic organized Samvidhan Mahotsav (Constitution Week) from 21st- 27th November 2023 to mark Constitution Day. Competitions were organized for students to participate in- face painting, quiz, poster making and Just A Minute (JAM). There was a walkathon on 24th November 2023 to raise awareness among the public about constitutional rights and Prof. V. Sudhish Pai was invited as the Chief Guest for the Constitution Day program on 27th November 2023. More details and glimpses from the event are given in the report.

It is your chance to learn more about legal aid activities and gain practical exposure through the same.
NATIONAL LOK ADALAT HELD AT HIGH COURT OF KARNATAKA ON 08-07-2023
CEERA-NLSIU is conducting a two year project for the Department of Justice, Govemment of India on Pan India Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Programme. in this regard, CMR University, School of Legal Studies have contributed in creating legal literacy and legal awareness videos.This approach is towards enabling vulnerable sections to key information and awareness on legal rights, entitlements and relevant laws.
WHO WE ARE
CMR University Legal Services Clinic intends to provide legal services to the socially and the economically backward sections of the society who have difficulty in accessing the judicial system. Legal aid clinic provides legal services to the people. The thrust is on the basic legal services to achieve Social, Economic and Political Justice that are enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution of India and under the Directive Principles of State Policy. The legal services clinic is a great opportunity to understand the difficulties faced by people in distant villages lacking access to justice.
National Legal Services Authority (Legal Services Clinics in Universities, Law Colleges and other Institutions) Scheme, 2013 and Bar Council of India mandated all law colleges and universities in India to establish and run legal services centers or clinics as a step towards ensuring effective access to justice. Section 4(k) of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 mandates the National Legal Services Authority to develop, in consultation with the Bar Council of India, programs for clinical legal education and promote guidance and supervise the establishment and working of legal services clinics in universities, law colleges and other institutions.
The students can gain professional as well as practical knowledge through the programs. Regardless of the path they choose, the students will gain practical skill while bringing life-changing legal services and by spreading more legal awareness. Students develop skills such as leadership, problem solving and social management which are otherwise difficult to acquire. This knowledge and experience will be empower them in making social changes for the benefit of the community at large.
With this CMRU Legal Services Clinic aspires to guarantee equal access to justice for all.

KSLSA (Legal AId & Services to the Transgender Community) Scheme 2022 drafted by the students of CMRU School of Legal Studies.
Today on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority. A KSLSA (Legal Aid & Services to the Transgender Community) Scheme 2022 which was drafted by CMRU SOLS Legal Aid Clinic students was released.
