Students of CMR University, School of Legal Studies assisting the Justice Chandrashekar Committee formed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court
We the students of CMR University School of Legal Studies, Bangalore assisted the Justice Chandrashekar Committee formed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court and guided the Applicants in Shivaram Karanth Layout and assisted them in filing the documents in pursuance of the Hon’ble Supreme Court order. According to the Hon’ble Supreme Court order we were instructed to collect and upload documents which were dated before 3rd August 2018. We received a huge number of applications with the said date. We were guided initially with regard to collect the following documents from the applicants: Sale deed, Photo of the Site, Copy of Tax Paid Receipt, Copy of Khatha, Identity proof of Applicants, Copy of Up-to-date Encumbrance Certificate from the date of purchase, Copy of sanctioned plan, Copy of Commencement Certificate, Copy of Completion Certificate, Copy of Occupancy Certificate, Copy of sanction order of temporary connection for electricity, Copy of sanction order of permanent connection for electricity, Copy of sanction order of temporary connection for water, Copy of sanction order of permanent connection for water, Copy of loan sanction order, Copy of latest loan instalment paid receipt, Deed of declaration in respect of Apartments
We have scanned the above documents and uploaded along with their Application Number. Before scanning and uploading the relevant documents we have thoroughly examined the documents and uploaded only the valid documents. Approximately we received about 100 – 150 applications per day. We have faced some difficulties in the initial stages as many applicants were reluctant to come forward to submit the application. Some of the applicants were instigated and misled by vested interest as to not to file the applications. There was also an agitation organized by one Mr. Kodihalli Chandrashekar and some of the applicants have agitated and argued before us. However, we have convinced them the importance of the filing of application and production of documents. We guided the Committee for almost a period of 2 months amidst the COVID-19, academical lifestyle and hostile environment which indeed was worth the learning experience. We are grateful to Dr. T. R. Subramanya our Dean, Dr. V. J. Praneshwaran our Vice Principal and Smt. Vidya Selvamony Advocate and faculty at CMRU SOLS for giving us an opportunity to learn and develop our communication and knowledge in this particular field. We are also grateful to Justice A. V. Chandrashekar, Mr. Jayakar Jerome IAS (Retd.), Dr. S. T. Ramesh IPS (Retd.) for their encouragement and guidance throughout this endeavor. We are also thankful to the other staff members who guided us and shared their experience which was very much helpful in completing our task.
