ADOPTING A CULTURE OF PEACE

END RACISM, BUILD PEACE

Due to the rise in instances of xenophobia and racism during the COVID pandemic, the UN called upon everyone to foster peace as hate speech and violence directed at racial minorities rose; they asked everyone to join hands in tackling racism. The theme of International Day of Peace, 2022 revolves around this much-needed development.

However, systemic inequalities continue to pervade societies across the globe- with nominal and on-paper amendments.

AS MANY TERRITORIAL CLAIMS AS THERE ARE DROPS IN THE OCEAN

ANCHORING HISTORY TO CLAIM TERRITORY

As early as the 1970s, countries started establish their claims over islands and zones in the South China Sea, in a quest to secure possession of fishing rights and rich natural resources. However, the primary parties in conflict are two- China and the rest of the world. While the former has placed reliance on historic cartography to substantiate its claims, the latter predominantly seeks the authority of the International Court of Justice and the UNCLOS.

So, does tradition prevail over document? or does the authority of the international legal bodies and conventions remain an optional acceptance?

BUT, the question is, how can the loss be compensated?

Can technology play an imperial role ? Or, will it create a divide? Will the magnitude of the education crisis affect the global assets?

ROLE OF AI IN INT'L REFUGEES' LIVES

Human Rights are real, aren't they?

BUT, the question is, is it subconsciously being impinged on, in the disguise of helping hands and safety?

Here, who is to be blamed and can the accountable be stopped ? How can the Refugees be taken out from the crisis? Will AI help ? How about the reprogramming of algorithmic humanitarianism?

EVALUATING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE PANDEMIC

Every crisis- economic, social or otherwise, may be traced back to those who must be held answerable for the repercussions arising therefrom.

But who is answerable for a Global Health Crisis? One, for which the origins yet remain unexplained. With the sword of COVID-19 having claimed 46 lakh cases till date, on whose shoulders must accountability be placed?
