Role play on Arbitration
Have we ever thought about how commercial dealings work in times of pandemic? This is a scenario between a laptop manufacturer and dealer, whose contract stipulates the time of delivery of laptops. However, owing to a nation wide lock down, the contract becomes impossible to perform. Here is second year LLB students of CMR SOLS presenting a role play to decide whether the contract to the exclusion of force majeure clause will prevail over the Center's policy/Legislation or not.

Role play on Arbitration
The students of the VII semester BBA LLB performed a mock arbitration of a hypothetical case between a shipping carriage company named, Jamali Kamali and a logistics company called Pappu Commodities. This was a maritime dispute’s arbitration which must be settled by such person who has the necessary expertise and knowledge about maritime laws and transactions, as per the Maritime Arbitration Rules of India. The objective of the roleplay was to let the audience have a greater insight into how the process of arbitration actually takes place inside of an Arbitral tribunal.

Role play on Conciliation
During the time of pandemic, various situations lead to a nationwide lockdown due to which sales were extremely low and the companies faced some losses. It also brought with it the economic slowdown with businesses reeling under financial strain, closure of companies, defaults and delays in performance of contracts, etc. leading to an emergence of various issues between contracting parties. In this scenario a dispute arises with the owner and a pregnant employee who was terminated against the protection provided in the MTP Act.
