Who we are

CMR University School of Legal Studies provides opportunity to its students to indulge in various activities of ADR Center which not only helps build the academics but also provides opportunities to help develop their personality and self-confidence. It enhances knowledge in better understanding of Question of Law and Question of Fact. Legal Education is a major transformation right now in India. There is increase in the number of cases that ADR takes up and helps them resolve the disputes. The center helps in positive learning and provides you better understanding in Problem Solving Methods. In today’s world through this ADR Center we can not only build our career but also provide quick settlements of disputes among people with a feasible amount. The Centre aims to conduct workshops, training court room practices etc in order to train legal professionals so that they may effectively adopt ADR techniques in the settlement of disputes. The ADR Centre at the law school will help and assist the students from within and outside who seek to advance the growing practice of mediation, arbitration and other alternative forms of dispute resolution in the legal profession. The centre will grow and build a competitive team which competes locally, nationally and internationally in the upcoming years.

Mission

The Centre for ADR has a vision to promote the use of ADR methods among the legal and non-legal professionals, students and general public at large. The Centre envisions a society which values harmony, peaceful co-existence and diversity. The skills involved in ADR methods are not only for amicably resolving the disputes and disagreements but these are life skills which are needed for all of us. The Centre wishes to bring a positive change in the view of the society regarding disputes/disagreements not as something negative but as an opportunity.

  • To promote arbitration, mediation, conciliation as an effective means of dispute resolution process.

  • To promote dispute resolution as an indigenous means of dispute resolution.

  • To undertake research in the field of ADR studies.

  • To conduct certification, online training, diploma/degree programs as well as specialized courses in the field ADR.

  • To have a Mediation Certification Course for students and lawyers

  • Any other activity as assigned/approved by the Chairperson of the center from time to time.
