It was conducted on 7th February 2024, by the Centre for Gender Justice and Law, CMR University School of Legal Studies.
The Centre for Gender Justice under CMR School of Legal Studies was inaugurated on 27th February, 2021. The ceremony was honored by the Mrs. Rekha Sharma, Prof. (Dr.) Shashikala Gurpur and Dr. Sabitha Ramamurthy. With this ceremony, the Centre has been brought in to focus on different aspects of Gender Justice and Equality under the guidance of Prof.(Dr.) T.R Subramanya and Director in-Charge Dr. Valarmathi R.
Mrs. Rekha Sharma is the chairperson of the National Commission for Women. She has been a vocal supporter of the rights of women and BJP party worker who have experienced sexual abuse and rape. She has constantly advocated for improvements to the conditions of women prisoners and has raised claims for women's right and liberty, rights of Indian women deserted by their NRI husbands living abroad and has also encouraged women to equally participate in policy making programs and politics.
Prof. (Dr.) Shashikala Gurpur is an Indian author and professor, who is the director of Symbiosis Law School, Pune and Dean of the Faculty of Law, Symbiosis International University. She is a member of 19th Law Commission of India and National Judicial Academic Council. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship. She is named in the list of Top 100 Legal Luminaries of India by LexisNexis in May 2016..She was awarded Kittur Rani Chennamma Award by the Government of Karnataka in March 2019.

Women have always been considered as inferior/subordinate to men. they have been subjected to brutal violence for dowry, sexual harassment on streets, workplace and even at their homes. On March 11th, 2019 Ms. Donna Fernandes has precisely and boldly addressed the issue of women's rights and growing grey areas of crime against women. Through this session, she also enlightened us about the real motive of celebrating the Women's Day .
Ms. Fernandes is the founder and director of Vimochana (NGO), which works for the victims of Domestic Violence and other forms of abuse. The NGO also supports and provides shelter to women who raise their voice against the violence.

To mark the International Girl Child Day'21, the students of SOLS CMRU under the guidance of our esteemed Dean Sir and the Coordinating Teacher- Prof. Tabassum Sultana, has made an amazing attempt to highlight the underlined evil issue of Patriarchy existing in our society by re-enacting the blockbuster Malayalam movie 'THE GREAT INDIAN KITCHEN'. This play is for educational entertainment and to bring out the true message of the Movie creating a far reaching impact in the viewers outlook.
