The Center for Gender Justice has been established and it is is particularly oriented towards creating awareness for gender equality existing both nationally and internationally. The Center looks forward to extensive collaborations with institutions, both professional and academic institutions, engaged in this field. The Center provides opportunity to its students to indulge in various activities of Gender Justice Center which not only will help to build the academics but also to provide opportunities to help develop their personality and self-confidence.
Moulding the young minds and equip themselves to overcome all kinds of obstacles and discrimination. create a positive shift in the mind-set of the people as to gender inequality.
Creating awareness as to need for gender equality.
Provide legal education as to various kinds of rights provided under constitutional law and other enactments to protect them from discrimination and exploitation.
Inculcate the qualities of self reliant, confidence and economic independence.
Providing suitable guidance to get rid of gender bias and discrimination.
To provide source of information and support to women who are in need of assistance.
The primary objectives of the Center are as follows -
To entail an end to existing inequalities between men and women that are produced and reproduced in the family, the community, the market and the state.
To undertake and promote detailed research and in-depth studies on recent laws empowering women and LGBTQIA+ with a view to critically review and suggest legal reforms.
To organize programmes like arranging periodical seminars and conferences on topics concerning gender discrimination issues and thereby provide a forum for interaction to the academicians, representatives of voluntary organizations and government agencies and all those groups working for bringing gender justice.
To arrange talks by eminent scholars in order to sensitize and to bring greater awareness among the students, members of the teaching faculties and the general public regarding women's multidimensional roles, their rights, problems and their potential as resources for national development and to ameliorate the existing inequalities and to bring an attitudinal change.
To develop library resource material and strong documentation center relating to research and studies on gender sensitization that will help in restructuring existing educational curricula/courses and will provide a retrieval system for the University's own research, training and action programmes.
To undertake extension activities by collaborating with voluntary organizations and revolutionist personalities in these field that could enable the Centre to plan an interventionist role for making a realist approach to address the vulnerabilities of all gender in different specific situation in particular and the society in general.
To undertake publication of such research studies, periodicals, special lectures and reports of seminar/ conference etc, which could result in providing a good reading material and data base relevant to gender inequality issues.
To provide an opportunity to those vulnerable gender of society who has never received a representation.
To offer Degree, Diploma, Certificate Courses in Gender Based Studies.
