How Can the School Counselors Help You?
You are able to privately request to see their counselor
If you do not have a laptop, any teacher is able to put in a referral too. You need to ask a teacher to do it for you.
Typically, we get to you within a day or two. This can be longer depending on the volume of counseling referrals.
Direct Services
Whole Group Instruction- We create advisory period lessons for the school. We are open to suggestions, just talk to your counselor.
College/Career Exploration: we give aptitude tests and exposure to various careers. This is done through YouScience and Pathful Explore.
Social/Emotional Lessons: Developed around empathy, kindness, suicide prevention, bullying prevention, etc. Many of these lessons we create, but we will be incorporating more SEL lessons through School Connect. School Connect is located on your classlink.
Academic Lessons: Since we are an AVID school, we set short-term goals weekly and long-term goal setting quarterly. There is a school-wide initiative to have all students be able to use their binders and agendas appropriately to stay organized. This is based off AVID organization skills and will help you be better prepared for your academcis, college, and careers moving forward.
Small Group Counseling- This is done by invitation only.
